Finance Operations & Payroll Manager

Key Responsibilities Include:
Payroll Management
Own and manage end-to-end payroll processes, including data extraction, validation, and submission to external providers
Oversee payroll cycles to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
Manage payroll-related activities such as 401(k), tax withholdings, garnishments, employee benefits, and workers' compensation claims
Review and approve payroll journals, accruals, and related financial outputs to ensure reporting integrity
Accounting & Financial Controls
Reconcile payroll- and accounts payable-related balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
Maintain strong internal controls across payroll, accounts payable (AP), and travel & expense (T&E) functions
Ensure accurate coding, approvals, and adherence to company policies
Compliance & Regulatory Oversight
Ensure compliance with multi-state payroll tax requirements, filings, and statutory regulations
Monitor and enforce adherence to financial controls, company policies, and audit requirements
Escalate compliance risks, control gaps, or irregularities to senior leadership
Process Improvement & Systems
Standardize, document, and improve payroll, AP, and T&E processes to drive scalability, consistency, and audit readiness
Identify and remediate inefficiencies, control gaps, and operational risks
Provide Finance leadership input into payroll, HRIS, and ERP system implementations and enhancements
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Accounting leadership to align transactional processes with financial reporting outputs
Support Senior Controller and CFO with payroll accounting, tax compliance, and financial controls across a multi-entity structure
Collaborate across departments and geographies to ensure seamless financial operations
Leadership & Ownership
Take full ownership of payroll-related accounting, compliance, and operational processes
Drive accountability and discipline across finance operations functions
